The Record
Grand Coteau
Never Had
This site is an unofficial community reference for the Town of Grand Coteau, Louisiana. It is not run by the town government. It exists because no other complete source does.
Why This Exists
Filling the Vacuum
Grand Coteau does not have an official municipal website. The state directory misses half the elected officials. Tourism aggregators list restaurants that closed in 2009. Every business in town is forced to be found by accident.
This site is the answer to that. A single authoritative reference for the Town of Grand Coteau — its government, its businesses, its events, its history, and the neighboring towns in St. Landry Parish. Researched from public records, town meeting coverage, and the people of Grand Coteau themselves.
Every legitimate Grand Coteau business gets a free basic listing. This is not an advertising platform. It is a front door.
Who Built This
Encoded Noire
grandcoteaula.org is produced and maintained by Encoded Noire — a creative agency based in Acadiana, led by Milton Arceneaux. Encoded Noire builds brand identity, design, marketing, photography, video, and AI-assisted content for businesses and institutions throughout Louisiana and beyond.
This project was launched as a gift to the Town of Grand Coteau. Every page was researched, designed, and written by Encoded Noire. No part of the site is funded by the town government. Ongoing maintenance is supported by voluntary Patron and Pilier listings and by three founding-funder organizations.

Get It Right
If anything on this site is wrong — a business listed that closed, a name spelled wrong, a phone number outdated, an event off the calendar — tell us. This is a living record. It gets better as the town helps us maintain it.
